People are curious about Chinese medicine, and one of the first questions they ask is, “Does it really work?” Allow me to answer it this way: It can certainly change your life.

In the summer of 2002, I was in a car accident that caused whiplash to my neck. As a result, I had two bulging cervical discs and other issues including loss of strength, radiating pain alternating with loss of sensation, and an inhibited lifestyle. My recovery consisted of chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy and qigong; all worked to help correct my physical ailments. These experiences, combined with learning Tai Chi Chuan and accompanying my SiFu (instructor) on a trip to China, opened my mind to the concept of becoming a healer.

I enrolled at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2008. It was then that Heaven & Earth Acupuncture was born, and I have never regretted my decision to dedicate my career to helping others discover improved health through acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Today, I focus much of my attention on individuals looking for alternative ways to ease pain, manage various illnesses, and reduce stress.

To answer that initial question – yes, Chinese medicine does work. As I have discovered through my own experiences, it works because the approach takes the whole person into consideration. With time, understanding, commitment and guidance, individuals can maintain a happier and healthier existence. They can change their lives.
